The first of its kind in the United States, the Mover Training Center was created in cooperation with the City of Chicago, with the support of Mayor Richard M. Daley and Alderman Ed H. Smith.  It teaches basic and advanced moving, specialty crating and packing skills and personal safety standards. 

Midway’s employees are required to complete the Center’s curriculum and gain experience as mover-helpers before they can become full-fledged movers.

The Mover Training Center is great for our customers – it helps to guarantee that Midway’s movers are knowledgeable, skilled and able to deliver the highest level of service.  But the Center is also great for the community because it provides comprehensive job training to hundreds of low-income Chicagoans.

And while most of the Center’s graduates go on to work for Midway, many find employment with other moving companies throughout the state of Illinois. 

Midway’s Mover Training Center gives its graduates valuable job skills that help them to provide for their families and become productive members of the community.
